Privacy Policy

Please read and understand the entire policy before using OsmWallet browser extension and any of our(and our partners) products and services.

By using our Product and/or Services, you accept the terms of this Policy and our Terms of Use. If you have not done so already, please also review our terms of use. The terms of use contain provisions that limit our liability to you and require you to resolve any dispute with us on an individual basis and not as part of any class or representative action. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ANY PART OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY OR OUR TERMS OF USE, THEN PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY OF OUR(AND OUR PARTNERS) PRODUCT AND/OR SERVICES.

OsmWallet Chrome Extension

Our user data retention is only limited to:

  1. We only get general information of our application installation and geographical location etc from Chrome Developer Dashboard.
  2. OsmWallet only connects to public websocket to fetch data from rippled server. And we fetch fiat equivalent of XRP value using an external API. In both cases we do not save any user data. Users fiat preference is also stored inside local storage of users browser.
  3. All the user preference settings data is stored on users browser, and we do not have access to it.
  4. We neither save users public key, nor secret key: so we do not have access to user funds what-so-ever. OsmWallet is a non-custodial wallet.

We are not responsible for:

  1. The data you submit to 3rd party applications/websites.
  2. The data you reveal to any party yourself.
  3. The transactions you make.
  4. Someone scamming you. Since OsmWallet is non-custodial, user is 100% responsible to keep their account and funds safe. We recommend to keep best practices in mind before making any transaction or before revealing any of your account data anywhere: Security Best Practices

Since it’s blockchain, any transaction done are final and can not be reversed by any party. And we are not responsible for any transaction done from the wallet.

OsmWallet Is In Beta

The wallet application itself is in Beta, so caution should be exercised before installing and using the software application with any real fund. It’s solely user responsibility, and OsmWallet founders or the employees are not responsible for any loss of funds or identity or any damage caused because of the use of any of our products and services directly or indirectly.

Support for our product and service

We do not provide exclusive support for any of our product and service as of now. But we have a community forum at OsmWallet.com where anyone can discuss things with other users and resolve their issues. And no-body except you are responsible for any of your data you reveal on the forum. The forum content is public and hence you must always be very cautious about the kind of data you share with the world. The main moto of the forum is for curious people to communicate, share their knowledge and learn from each other.

Since it is a centralized forum, all the data you share are on a remote database. For example, your profile information(whatever you share), your email address(which you use for registering your account), your forum posts, forum replies etc. But we do not intend to share it with any one. But in any case we are not liable of any consequences it might cause. You are solely responsible for all the data you share. Always be mindful of the fact that anyone and everyone can read things you post and also anyone can check your account balance(if you reveal your r-address / public address anywhere), as the information is already present on the public ledger(XRPL).

To comply with law

We do not directly do KYC of our users yet, but we fetch this data from Xumm API(readonly). Since OsmWallet is non-custodial and since we do not track and store any of our user data DOES NOT mean that it’s a platform to do money laundering or terror funding or any illegal activities.

We do co-operate with government authorities if there are any illicit activity from any user. If someone has broken the applicable laws (including anti-money laundering (AML) laws and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements), lawful requests and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities will be respected.

Co-operating with the government authorities does not mean we will start tracking/storing user information on remote server via OsmWallet. Tracking and storing user data is against our vision, so we will never do that. But since the underlying technology is a public blockchain(XRP Ledger), all your transaction details are already in public – doesn’t even matter if you use OsmWallet or not.

Third-party Applications

Usually 3rd party applications need to store user data, so that they can identify and serve the user inside their application. So be very careful about what data you are sharing and with whom you are sharing your data.

To communicate with you: Newsletter

Optionally you can subscribe to our newsletter wherein we share information with the community users(newsletter subscribers) on a regular basis. However keep in mind that you’ll be sharing your email ID with us. And the newsletter service(Revue) we are using is from Twitter and hence it might track down your name and other details you might be sharing on your Twitter account. But your email address will not be associated with your r-address / public key. Rest assured, we will never share your email address with anyone for anything.

Web Shops/Stores

You might also optionally share your data with our select partners while buying tshirt, mugs and other things on their website. You might also subscribe to their service where they use your personal information to communicate about promotions, upcoming events, and other news about products and services offered by them.

We do not have any say in how(and how much) you share your data with them and how they store and use your data. So please be mindful while using any of our partners or any third-party sites. If you do not feel 100% safe to share your data, please do not buy or visit their site – basically do not share any of your data with them.

Do not want to use our service

If at anytime for whatever reason you decide not to continue using our product/services, you can delete and remove your XRPL account created/imported using/into OsmWallet. And you can also delete your profile(user account) from the community forum at OsmWallet.com, and hence all the replies and topics on the forum.

Optionally, you can also unsubscribe from our newsletter and any of our partners newsletters. You can also delete your accounts from our partners website and/or from any other 3rd party sites where you think you’ve submitted your data.
